Music gets the best of me

"Music gets the best of me
But guess who gets the rest of me
And there's no need for jealousy
Music gets the best of me
I've got to tell you something
you're not my first ever love
men come and go I've noticed
But my first love's going strong
He swept me off my feet
Strong
With melody and simple beat
Strong
A touch and I feel complete
Music is my love you see yeah"

-Sophie Ellis Bextor

Truer words have never been written, i love music...and that Sophie Eliis Bextor(whom i adore) song totally captures how i feel about music.

(Gosh i am listening to Murder on the Dancefloor by Sophie) and i am getting real nostalgic....i remember when i first heard the song...i was in love...i recorded the video on a tape and played it on and on..till i knew the words by heart, her songs have a dance-floor undertone to them..she's british and looks like a doll.

one of the perks of internet access at home is that i can download music that i love, music that sustained me during those times of loneliness and depression, when life was such a blur to me, when nothing else could put a smile on my face than listening to music i loved....and now i can listen to those songs..i dont have to make do with all the finger snapping, two stepping....r.kelly hair breading foolishness...okay those songs are catchy but they don't really do it for me...

M.I.A(i am in love)

The first time i saw her video was on MTV BASE(boys) and at first i was like whats this one on about now...but i listened to the song and i liked it and i started watching out for her..She is refreshing, original, daring, she is different,i love her dress sense, quirly video's,theme of her songs, she addresses different issues, talks about what it feels like to be an immigrant..she is originally from Sri Lanka but lives in England.I have read rave reviews about her albums and i am on the look out for them...wait i can just download her songs...hmmm...well i still need the album sha...i love Paper Planes...

John Mayer...I am a huge John Mayer fan...So i cudnt resist getting songs like 'No such thing'...'your body is a wonderland'....'Bigger than my body'...love love love tose three songs...i still need to get more of his songs cause he's just one of those artistes i can listen to non-stop..he has this voice that just speaks to me..his music too..lovely!! Feel good music.

AMY WHINEOUSE(before she lost her marbles)

I knew Amy whinhouse before she blew up..okay i didnt know her, know her...we didnt use to do free midnight calls or anything but i listened to her music...when she was voluptous..yes she was once upon a time...before she blew up and started doin drugs..and the first song of hers i ever heard was "Stronger than me" and i love dt and i knew this girl had talent....her lyrics are always funny,cheeky...like this one that i also love "FUCK ME PUMPS" and "I HEAR LOVE IS BLIND"..click to read the lyrics

Another song i got was 'Westside' by TQ..whatever happened to him...he had so much promise he just faded away like that...he used to be my kanye west...

P!NK....she of course is my favourite female artiste ever...i cant even bein to go into what her MIZUNDASTOOD album did for my life.I mean i used to be a very depressed teenager, a hermit in fact, who thought about suicide, felt fat, ugly, hated the world...low self esteem..ive been there, done that..gotten the t-shirt...And i listened to P!NK'S album and i felt better..i listened to one particular song "18 Wheeler" ....not forgetting Like a pill,Dear diary, Lonely girl, Numb,Family Portrait..infact the whole album was like a story of my life..it was like there was finally someone who goes through what i do..who is like me..different, tomboyish...beautiful...i just love her.

That was the album cover...

(sorry to digress oh...but how can someone be typing with "H" factor again."Helder brother"..i dont understand..okay back to my post)

David Grey's -BABYLON....am i the only one who loves this song and loves his voice too...i hope not

Heather Headley- He is

I think i first heard this song in a movie and i think the movie was "Breaking all the rules" with Jamie Foxx...i am not too sure..and he was with Gabrielle Union or sumthing and they played this song and i just ahd to know who sang it..found out it was Heather Headley...i love that song...i mean when i get married if i find someone worthy o! and i have the money and if its possible ill get her to sing the song at my wedding for my husband as a wedding gift...the song is wonderful...

Lucy Pearl...

i am a huge soul music fan...so i love love love this group to bits i dont know why they had to split..Dance Tonight and Without You

Floetry...

Why why why did they have to split up..I love their music..love the beautiful fusion of rap and soul music...it did it for me...and SAY YES and SUPERSTAR were among my favourites.

Nat King Cole
...LOVE and THE CHRISTMAS SONG.

I mean theres just something about music back then...his voice is just....what word can i use now oh....it just sounds the way good music should sound...effortless...like he was born to sing...i love his voice...his music..

And then some of my favourite songs in the world

Alanis Morisette's - IRONIC
The roots ft Music soul child-BREAK U OFF(i dnt understand my obsession with this song)

Michelle branche's GAME OF LOVE,EVERWHERE AND BREATHE..reminds me of all the boys i used to like back then...

OUTLANDISH

The name caught my attention at first...
then the music had me hooked
hip-hop/R&B/soul music sound takes influences from their various backgrounds (Moroccan, Pakistani,Latin American), and although their songs are in English, they usually feature lyrics in Spanish, Punjabi, Danish. All these influences make the music of Outlandish somewhat unique and this is easy to notice from the variety of genres covered in their albums.
They are from denmark and the group is made up of a moroccan, a pakistani and a cuban..and all of them add something to the group..and gives the group an edge...i love their songs GUATANAMO,WALOU AND AICHA....and was real glad i got it online..

Wheatus-Teenage dirtbag
(gosh i remember them days)

Alien Ant Farm- Smooth criminal and Movies..

Corinne Bailey Rae

Gavin Degraw

P.O.D

702

3LW(yes o)

TRACY CHAPMAN...just awesome!!!

SNOW PATROL

I am feeling you o...except for 3LW. Sorry. "Break you off", I think it's something in the bass inside the melody...I hardly meet people who share similar tastes in music with me.
