SHALLOWVILLE

We strive to impress
those by whom we are opressed
who have unlimited acess to six digit accounts
born with silver spoons in their mouths
yet we starve to acquire
things they get on a platter
resulting in headaches and ulcers
our poor stomachs are left to suffer
the consequences of our low-self esteem
compounded with a hollowness within
there are no lenghts so extreme
we couldnt possibly reach
so we pilfer our parents pockets
just to keep up with the joneses
offer ourselves like meat
to old men who desire young things
and in return they dip into their pockets
to reward us for services we give
and with these disgraceful resources
we buy loius vuitton purses
and engage in shoppin sprees
hoping to fill the void within
but soon we come to realise
those from whom the scales have fallen from their eyes
we are residents of shallowville
a sad place where our worth is measured
by the material things we so treasure
and if this vicious cycle isnt stopped
we find ourselves back at square one
still trying to impress
those by whom we are opressed

I love this part the best, back at square one. I wonder when we will learn.

**Why buy things with money you don't have and to show off to people you don't like. This is just a waste of money and time**

Yes Tisha money is never enough.

Exschoolnerd did you write this?

It was excellent ..and a good way for me to check I am not trying to impress those by whom I am being oppressed.

Ya! Guess u are right. People shdnt struggle to impress anybody. No one has succeeded with that and can ever succeed with that. Best way out is for people to try to PROVE themselves and not IMPRESS. Go ask Nelson Mandela.
